About the Awards
The Leading Wales Awards® were developed by a consortium of professional institutes, voluntary and public sector bodies as well as private companies. The Awards seek to identify, recognise and celebrate personal achievement in outstanding leadership in Wales.
The organisations within the consortium share a passionate and professional belief that outstanding leadership (in all sectors) is the key driver of the growth of the economy of Wales.
Therefore, our mission has been (and remains) to champion good leadership and influence leadership development by recognising, identifying and celebrating individuals, who through their leadership contribute to the prosperity of Wales.
If ever there was a time for leadership that transforms all that we do in Wales – that time is now as we seek to transform the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of Wales for our future generations and truly build the Wales We Want.
For this reason, in 2019 the judges seek nominations of individuals whose leadership is courageous, inspirational and transformational and is having a significant positive impact, hence contributing to transforming their community, business or organisation.
Hence, we have called the 2019 theme of the Awards “Daring to Lead®”
As a Consortium, we have championed outstanding leadership, leadership skills and leadership networks, bringing them into the forefront of all sectors and across so many organisations in Wales over the last 15 years.
The Leading Wales Awards® Consortium is rightfully proud of its contribution throughout so many years, in highlighting and celebrating the impact of ever more outstanding leadership in Wales, as an essential driver of building the “Wales we Want”.
We recognise however that it is time for us to move into new areas of championing leadership. September 2019 will therefore see the final cohort of finalists and winners for these awards. We are excited to announce that the early evening awards ceremony on September 26th at Hilton Cardiff will be followed by a celebratory legacy dinner.
So, we urge you to get ready to nominate your final nominees – please don’t miss the chance! Nominees may be a volunteer, core worker, manager or executive in Wales and we need you to tell us about how their leadership is making a real difference to you, your life, your community, business or organisation.
